Score formula

6 Graded Subjects ; 1) Score Conversion: 5** = 7 | 5* = 6 | 5 = 5 | 4 = 4 | 3 = 3 | 2 = 2 | 1 = 1 ; 2) Mathematics (Module 1 or 2) is not considered as one of the elective subjects, but it will contribute to the total HKDSE score if its attained level is higher than that of the worst one of the 6 subjects. In that case, the score for the worst subject is replaced by a new score comprising half of the original score of that subject and half the score of the extended Maths module.

Weightings: Chinese, English, Mathematics (Compulsory Part) and Best of Biology/Chemistry must be included in the score calculation (i.e. Chinese + English + Mathematics (Compulsory Part) + Best of Biology/Chemistry + Best 2 elective subjects) ; The programme does not consider Mathematics (Module 1 or 2) as one elective subject

• Elective 1: 3
• Elective 2: 3

Subject requirements

Elective 1: Biology or Chemistry ; Elective 2: Mathematics (Module 1 or 2) is NOT considered as an Elective Subject

Other requirements

(a) Taking both Biology and Chemistry is preferred ; (b) Taking a third elective and/or Mathematics (Module 1 or 2) will be strongly recommended ; Note: Mathematics (Module 1 or 2) is NOT considered as an Elective Subject in the admission score calculation
